Etoile Education was created on 27 July 2004. The association aims to provide a framework for families vis-à-vis the European schools and European schooling. It also acts as a catalyst to raise awareness about educational needs.
Our association seeks to raise awareness about the need to provide genuinely international and European schooling options in addition to national systems.
European Schools, with their European curriculum cumulating in the prestigious European Baccalaureate, have helped, and continue to help, our continent prepare young people to live in a world where frontiers are porous and where work and exchanges are increasingly trans-national and trans-cultural.
European Schools are more relevant than ever with the European Parliament and other inter-governmental organisations all recommending multilingual, multicultural European education in all member States.
European Schools serve as models and only need to be adapted to a wider mission than just catering to the children of the staff of EU institutions.
We have great experience of the European schooling system (and others) and as such have achieved recognition as an authority within the system.
Etoile Education works at European level with INTERPARENTS (the umbrella parent association of all European schools), GUDEE (Groupe Unitaire de Développement des Écoles Européennes) and we are active in the reflections with regard to the Future of European schools.
We sucessfully lobbied for a European school in Strasbourg and offer a wide range of activities aimed at helping families make their own choices about education, based on their own cultural identity, which constitutes the basis of their future development as European citizens.
